My name is Khadija Omar, I am 20 years old psychology major, A makeup artists and entrepreneur who has a makeup brand and Organization. Im honoured to say that I am the first Hijabi contestant to represent Somalia at Miss world in 2021. I was born in Kenya in Hagardera refugee camp. My family immigrated to Canada. When I was just around the age of 9. We had to leave all our family behind and everything that we had to start a new life in Canada. Growing up, I lacked media representation of hijab models. My desire to represent black Muslim girls in magazines, television shows, films grew even more, a dream that has eventually come true through the My Miss World Somalia platform.For My Beauty with Purpose Project is Climate Reguee crisis in Somalia, Born and raised as a refugee at Hagadera camp in Kenya I fully understands the harsh climate conditions in Somalia such as water shortages, drought, locust infestation, floods which has internally displaced more than 2.3 Million people which affects women and children the most. For my beauty with a purpose project, will work with the UNHCR and Somali Youth Action in creating livelihood and climate education programs especially for women and kids, work in relocating vulnerable persons from a flood-prone settlement for internally displaced people, secure sites where the IDPs will be provided with transitional shelter and emergency relief kits as well as fundraising money for them to begin a sustainable life after they are relocated.Joined at Jul 13, 2026
