Somalia is currently facing the driest conditions in 40 years which has led to severe drought. Water and food prices have gone up, as many are abandoning their homes together with their weakened animals, in desperate search for the greenest pastures.

At the Somali Giraffe Project project center, Miss World Somalia demonstrates how the borehole has helped sustain cattle lives within the community.

The borehole has been able to sustain families and pastoralists during drought stricken periods. With more input and support, many of these water outlets can be set up in different centers in order to curb recurrent drought seasons and help mankind and wildlife co-exist.
