In 2020, Khadija omar founded the K Amani Organization. K Amani's mission is to work closely with women in dreams to empower them by focusing on issues that affect women and girls around the world and finding solutions to them. K Amani will address issues caused by gender inequality, such as education, menstrual health, domestic abuse, female genital mutilation, and child marriage, in order to have a global impact.
Because Khadija omar believes that a better future is within their grasp, the K Amani Organization will work tirelessly to ensure that a better future for women and girls is built. With its launch, we hope to focus on educating refugee girls about menstrual health. Assist with the issue of sanitary pads for girls in refugee camps. Because refugees lack employment opportunities, the majority of the family cannot afford pads for their young girls. Also, menstrual education is considered a taboo subject, religious and cultural barriers have made it difficult for young girls to receive the education they need at home.
As a result of these difficulties, young girls in refugee camps do not have access to education or sanitary pads during their menstrual periods. As an outcome, the girls would have no choice but to miss school during that time period, and the shame they felt and received from their community has had an impact on these young girls' self-confidence, dignity, and self-esteem. Education is the key to the young girls' future; it is their hope for better opportunities and a better way of life. It's heartbreaking to see young girl girls miss out on education because of their menstrual health period.
K Amani's objective is to be able to attend Dadaab refugee camps and start educating and empowering girls regarding hygiene, Menstrual Health Management (MHM), and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR),
No girl's education should be jeopardized because of her menstrual cycle, and no girl should be ashamed of her menstrual health.
