The Somali community in Kenya, welcomed Miss World Somalia to their facilities in Eastleigh, Nairobi. The initiative was led by Dr. Nabil Baron and Dr. Sophia Assali, in the hopes of harmonizing and educating the Somali community about the important roles that Miss Somalia plays in highlighting sensitive issues within the community, on a global stage.

The day begun with special meetings with the Somali cultural leaders who were briefed about Miss World and Khadija's modest appearance which is exemplary to many other Somali girls. This being the first time Somalia is debuting at a major beauty pageant, Miss World, it did not take a lot of convincing as the leaders were assured that Khadija's presence would portray them in good light.

After the meeting, they were ushered to a dance school in Eastleigh, where Somali hijabi girls dance to relieve stress and mental pressures. The dance session also involved special interaction between Khadija Omar and the young girls, an inspiring session that would be repeated frequently to create a constant and longer bond.
