

Did you know that more than 2 people die from Cervical Cancer in the UK each day? Nearly all cervical cancers are caused by HPV (human papilloma virus). This virus is transmitted via skin to skin contact, blood and other bodily fluids. Signs and symptoms to look out for: - vaginal bleeding that’s unusual for you (between periods, during or after sex, or after the menopause) - pain during sexual intercourse To help prevent cervical cancer: - Attend your CERVICAL SCREENING appointments - Get your HPV VACCINE (routinely offered to Year 8 pupils, but you can catch up until you’re 25)
