I have been proud and privileged to join the Indian community of Cardiff in their celebrations of Indian Independence Day in the capital of Wales.

My Beauty With a Purpose project Darcey For Diversity aims to encourage and inspire others to celebrate diversity in Wales so experiencing Indian Independence Day was a very special and important moment for me in my journey to the Miss World competition as well as my mission to inspire others in Wales to embrace diversity.

I dressed myself in a Saree for the very first time and felt so beautiful wearing it. This experience gave me an insight into the wonderful Indian culture which I am excited to experience even more so at the 71st edition of Miss World.
