Words really fail me when trying to describe the experiences I had whilst on a volunteer trip to Ghana for a month. I truly am not and will not ever be the same girl that got on a flight to Ghana alone in September, this experience has changed my life forever.

To see poverty first hand was a huge shock, we really don’t realise how lucky we are until we witness the struggles of other people. Some of the people that I met on this journey really don’t have a lot in terms of material items, but what they do have is pure joy and happiness. The people in Ghana are so lovely and a light shines from within them, I felt at home there.

Here’s a glimpse of the first week I spent in Ghana. I really wish everyone could witness what I witnessed during my time there, it was genuinely so beautiful.
