Miss Venezuela World gives us news from Río Blanco II, the community she worked closely with on her Beauty with a Purpose Project.
Hello all!
Today I wanted to share this wonderful video from Río Blanco II, the community I helped for my Beauty with a Purpose project which has shown me what courage and resilience really mean. One of my main concerns in the area is that there is very little access to medicine but thanks to the interest and efforts of many we have been able to visit the community to offer medical consultations that can provide people with medicine and health guidance.
Activities in the community have been reduced a bit due to a COVID-19 outbreak that began a few weeks ago, but I’m happy to say that the kitchen at the Alejandro Llado Civic Center is still open and Ms. Hivis and the team are busy bringing everybody lunch to their home. I hope this situation clears up soon so that the children can come back to the center for their classes.
Looking back, I feel grateful that this challenge brought not only the reconstruction of the civic center after a flood devastated the town, but also wonderful opportunities for the community. I owe all of this to the Miss World Organization who inspired me to use my crown for a social purpose that can benefit the greatest number of people. This road has made me grow in so many ways and it has given me the power to visit other centers such as La Pedrera to offer free medical assistance to every child in need.
¡Los quiero mucho!
Alejandra
