Miss World Venezuela 2020’s Beauty with a Purpose project

Miss World Venezuela 2020, Alejandra Conde’s Beauty with a Purpose project Río Blanco: hope, solidarity and resilience seeks to make improvements to the community and infrastructure. Over 100 Venezuelan children and 50 adults will benefit from this.

Río Blanco is a community in the state of Aragua where Alejandra is from. In October 2020 the community was devastated when heavy rain led to the overflow of the Madre Vieja river causing significant damage. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the community does not have the correct resources to rebuild their homes, roads and public spaces.

Alejandra is working with community leaders to solve the issues that the community are facing. So far, she has found a community space, which is used daily as a dining room to feed 100 children and elderly 20 adults. The space also has medical days and provides recreational activities. The area was also damaged by the heavy rain but Alejandra plans to reconstruct it.

Alejandra said: “this is one of my personal goals as a citizen of my country and as a human being. It has always been a dream to contribute positively to the lives of other people. And I hope together we can transform the lives of this community.”
