Alejandra Conde reigns as Miss World Venezuela
Alejandra Conde succeeded Isabella Rodríguez, as Miss World Venezuela 2020 on Thursday 24th September. TV channels Venevision and VePlus broadcast the national contest, hosted by Fanny Ottati and José Andrés Padrón. To comply with Covid-19 measures, there was no physical audience for this prerecord.
Twenty-two contestants competed for the title. The judges reviewed material recorded on the contestants and interviewed them. The interviews were live-streamed through Miss Venezuela digital platforms. Contestants demonstrated their catwalk poise and awards for preliminary events were presented at the final show. The Miss World Venezuela Organisation commented,
“The 22 applicants this year have shown their commitment to this challenge and have adapted with great dedication and discipline to this new type of work. At Miss Venezuela, we applaud their efforts and invite the entire country to continue supporting each of their candidates on different social networks.”
Alejandra was officially crowned Miss World Venezuela in a consecutive programme, Noches de Coronaciones, on Friday 25th September. The coronation was broadcast by Venevision and streamed online. Miss World Venezuela gave her acceptance speech and her proud family joined her on stage. Participants adhered to Covid-19 safety measures and kept a 2 metre distance.
Alejandra is a 23 year old medical student who hails from Villa de Cura in Aragua state. Seeing the benefits of the social activities she’s provided for underprivileged children and the elderly in her town, encouraged her to participate in Miss World Venezuela.
