Trinidad's J'ouvert On Carnival Monday.
Derived from French patois meaning daybreak, signaling the beginning of bacchanalia, the mind-blowing, two-day climax of Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival season.
In darkness, with nervous and excited anticipation, we take to the streets in a hair-raising ritual of unchoreographed song and dance, enraptured by the rhythm of the steelpan and soca music. And at dawn, as the sunlight hits our faces, we remain lost in revelry.
Carnival has just begun!
