Flying Colors

Today, the GOLDEN YELLOW sun shines on my soul,

GREEN is the fresh aura of my unspoiled hopes,

And my spirit is full of joy, endless like the AZURE ocean.

On this day I left my beloved rainbow island for the Island of Enchantment wearing bold tropical colours that speak in every language, paying homage to both these beautiful Caribbean lands.

And in my heart, are the colours of my nation's proud flag.

The BLACK: element - the Earth, the colour of strength, representative of the strong bond and dedication of our people, our unity of purpose and the wealth of the land.

The RED: element - Fire, the colour of courage, represents of energy of the sun, and the vitality of our land and its people 

And the WHITE: element - Water, representing purity and equality, the waters by which our lands are bound, the purity of our aspirations and the equality of all men.

Those colours mean all of that and so much more to me. In them, I see the comfort of my home, our richly exquisite way of life, and I see myself and my beautiful people: the embodiment of everything those colours represent. 

And as we soared high, lofty with the endless BLUE 

The clouds paving our way were lined with luxuriant GOLD

Breathing the air that angels breathe, I knew that the sky was my limit.
