My heart raced not just with excitement, but with the profound sense of purpose that comes with representing my beloved island nation on the world stage. To prepare, I dove headfirst into the rich traditions and skills that would allow me to embody the heart of Sri Lanka at Miss World.
Relaxation techniques and on-stage confidence lessons were given by Sangeetha Weerarathne, a popular actress in Sri Lanka. Her expertise was invaluable in managing the inevitable nerves and fostering an unshakeable presence. Every breathing exercise and visualization technique honed my ability to center myself amidst the whirlwind of preparation and competition.
I sought out the mentorship of Kumar De Silva to refine my poise and elegance. His etiquette training covered everything from introductions to formal dinners, ensuring I exuded confidence on the international stage. More importantly, he unlocked my public speaking potential, transforming a dreaded skill into a powerful tool to share my story.
The final piece of my preparation was posture and movement training with the famed Senaka De Silva. He meticulously refined my walk, infusing each step with grace and self-assurance. The lessons transcended physicality – they built an unshakeable sense of presence.
