2024 has been a truly transformative year. It began with the incredible honor of being crowned Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World, a milestone that led to so many life-changing moments. I completed an internship at the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and published my final year research on Criminalization of Marital Rape in Sri Lanka and Women’s Rights. Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and French, I’m proud to have earned a 3.8/4.00 GPA. Through my non-profit organization, Saheli, I had the opportunity to work on many impactful projects. I also became the face of a campaign by a well-known Sri Lankan brand, which led to being featured on Times Square, New York. As the first Miss World Sri Lanka from my hometown Anuradhapura, I’m proud to represent a city with such historical significance, once the heart of the ancient Sri Lankan kingdom and the birthplace of Sri Lanka’s first queen. I had the privilege of participating in a podcast about menstruation and the launch of Sri Lanka’s first period tracking app. Lastly, I was honored to become an honorary member of Rotary International, marking another significant chapter in my journey. What an unforgettable year of growth, advocacy, and achievement!
