Mining has always been an important part of the cultural heritage in the Zasavje region of Slovenia. By honoring these traditions, we strengthen our national identity and help preserve the legacy of our ancestors. ⛏️✨ Good luck! 🍀This is the traditional greeting of miners, who underground supported one another and stood side by side through both good and difficult times. Symbolically, I also took this pledge at the 17th traditional “Leap over the Skin” ceremony. 😁 Together with Miss Slovenia 2025 finalists, we joined the event “Perkmandelc invites you to his land”, dedicated to preserving the mining tradition of Zagorje ob Savi and the wider Zasavje region. We spent time with members of the Occupational Activity Center Zasavje for people with intellectual and other disabilities, played a friendly football match ⚽️, tried the fun local game “throwing the hammer into the cart” 🏆, danced 💃🕺, and enjoyed a colorful cultural program 🎤🎵.
