Feeling feminine, beautiful, and above all, safe, is crucial for every woman. The Vagus organization came up with the initiative to create a women's club once a month, the essence of which is to provide a safe space within a circle of women where they can chat, pamper themselves, or engage in various activities.

It warmed my heart when Daniela (Miss Slovakia 2023) came up with the idea to join forces and participate in a women's club for homeless women organized by the Vagus organization every month. The gathering included decorating gingerbread cookies, skin care and hair care. The main idea, however, was to instill a sense of safety in women, letting them know that they are not overlooked and that they matter too. I think we successfully brightened up the day for these incredibly kind and friendly ladies.

Domec, a low-threshold day center for homeless people, has been opened since 2013. Its main goal is to create a day center for homeless people providing a specific system of services that was lacking in Bratislava. Such centers are a standard in European capitals. Today, Domec is a place where homeless people can meet their basic needs, regain a sense of human dignity, and find the energy to address their life situation. They can get breakfast and a warm lunch, often their only hot meal of the day. They also have the opportunity to receive new and clean clothing, wash themselves, and spend their day meaningfully with various leisure activities. Each person is also offered professional social counseling. A low-threshold facility means that it guarantees maximum accessibility of services for everyone, creating a safe space regardless of income, permanent residence, current status, or reasons why a person became homeless. The services of the day center can also be used anonymously. Each person is approached individually, within the standards and ethical principles of social work.
