Lighting up lives with art one at a time
My Beauty with a Purpose advocacy is holistic well being through art. It is a combination of art therapy & companionship that offer valuable support for individuals facing mental health challenges, promoting self expression & emotional connection.
As someone who started drawing since 5 years old, Art is a passion, an important factor in my life and my best friend growing up. It helped me through childhood bullying, it is my visual diary and my self expression. From a passion that kicked off as a kid, I went on major in art subject in my secondary school, to fashion design diploma, Bachelor's Degree in fashion media studies, and finally to Master's Degree in Design Management.
As I grew older, Art finally also became something I want to use to inspire others. While schooling in 2018 I started teaching art, from being a group art teacher I went to become a private art teacher to balance while I am still on my studies. I found the passion in igniting another person's life. I have taught kids, adults, and seniors. I have so many people from all walks of life who taught me many things. I strongly believe there is no such thing as "too small" of an action to do good. Within my limited power I believe in enlightening one person's life than none at all. With years of teaching went by, I look back to those days in sweetness of memory.
Empowerment Through Art: From Pain to Purpose
I look to empower people to find acceptance and meaning in their life journey through art therapy. With the rising need for mental wellness in our society, art therapy is a way that helps people to express their feelings where they can look forward to an improvement in their quality of life. Art therapy helps reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress by 73%. Statistics has also shown that Children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder also show significant improvement in social skills through art therapy. I have taught wonderful students in my private classes, as well as some special needs kids. Some with high level of ADHD Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and others with Autism. Every individual is so unique and different, I love learning and adjusting teaching ways accordingly. My best feeling in all of my teaching, is to be a friend to them, when my student look at me as a good friend more than an educator. I love what I do.
