The Cape Verde hides in the mid-Atlantic and consists of a group of 10 islands, which were born of volcanic fury.

Sal Island
This Island is often described as a beach lover’s paradise, so it’s probably why I loved it so much. It is the most popular Island of the archipelago. With golden sandy beaches sinking into azure waters, windows into the island’s past and some truly spectacular natural phenomena to admire.

Buracona
The volcanic rocks nowadays have unique shapes and crevices where natural pools can be seen, nonetheless, the area is well known mainly due to the underground cave which is also known as the Blue Eye. As the cave is an open hole in the ground, the crystal clear waters at the cave’s bottom change colours depending on the orientation of the sun. It looked really spectacular.

I also found a beautiful blue lagoon. I saw some of the locals jumping inside from the cliff so I decided to join them. I was a great experience and I couldn’t resist to take a deep!

Salinas de Pedra de Lume
I also had lots of fun enjoying Salinas, which is the site of an old salt refinery, inside a volcano crater, where one can bathe and float in the water that is impregnated with salt, and benefit from its therapeutic qualities.

Another fun activity was discovering the beauty of Cape Verde through quads off road. Views were amazing, and enjoying them in this way made the whole trip even more unique!

Cape Verde is another wonderful place to visit!
