Miss World Sri Lanka 2025 grand finale took place on November 4 at the Hilton Colombo, where Prathibha Liyanarachchi, 27, was crowned the new Miss World Sri Lanka.

A Technical Designer and graduate of the University of Moratuwa, Prathibha is also an accomplished model who impressed the judges with her commitment to social causes. She received the “Beauty With a Purpose” award, recognizing her dedication to a number of charitable initiatives.

Prathibha will represent Sri Lanka at the 73rd Miss World Festival, in 2026, carrying forward the nation’s proud legacy on the global stage.

Sri Lanka has competed at Miss World since 1953, first as Ceylon, with 53 representatives to date. The nation’s best result came in its debut year, when Manel Ilangakoon placed 3rd Runner-Up, followed by later placements for Jennifer Anne Fonseka (1963), Yolanda Shahzadi (1970), Manohari Vanigasooriya (1978), and Sade Greenwood (2021).

The 2025 competition also recognized Lana Rashni as 1st Runner-Up, Hansana Balasooriya as 2nd Runner-Up, Malithi Sathsarani as 3rd Runner-Up, and Menasha Gunawardhana as 4th Runner-Up.

Prathibha was crowned by Anudi Gunasekara, a Head-to-Head challenge finalist at the 72 Miss World Festival who represented her country beautifully on the Miss World stage.
