Pharmacy student born in Gabon rises to the Belgium national crown after a journey of resilience

Olga Lombardo was crowned Miss Belgium 2026 at the Plopsa Theatre in Plopsaland, De Panne, following a final round that brought together 15 finalists from an original field of 32 contestants. A 22-year-old pharmacy student and model from Leuven, Lombardo received the crown from outgoing titleholder Karen Jansen, who placed Top 40 at the Miss World Festival last year in Hyderabad, India.

In her first major interview after winning the title, Lombardo opened up about her personal journey. “I have fought hard and now I just want to enjoy what I conquered”, she said. Reflecting on her childhood, she shared, “As a child, I left my life in Gabon behind and later discovered that the man I thought was my father wasn’t actually my biological father. I’ve always had to fight my way forward.” The new Miss Belgium added, “I truly believe in the power of Miss Belgium.”

First Runner-Up was Justine Tack (Ousselghem, West Flanders), while Second Runner-Up was Aicha Verheye (Ostend, West Flanders).

Several candidates also received special distinctions during the evening, including Miss Congeniality Kelly Godefroid (Huy), Miss Social Media Catherine Choquet (Tournai), and Miss Model Albertina Rodrigues (Liège).
With her national crown secured, Olga Lombardo will represent Belgium at Miss World, taking part in the 75th Anniversary edition of the festival.
