How the 75th Anniversary Miss World Will Be Selected

The road to the Miss World crown will unfold beginning with the Top 40 and gradually narrowing the competition to the Top 20, Top 12 and Top 6, before the new Miss World and two runner-ups are crowned.

TOP 40

The contestants are divided into four continental regions: Africa, Americas & Caribbean, Asia & Oceania, and Europe.

Each region will have 10 contestants in the Top 40, creating a total of 40 quarterfinalists.

Several places can be secured through the Miss World challenges and their continental winners:

  • Beauty With a Purpose
  • Multimedia
  • Head-to-Head
  • Top Model
  • People’s Choice*

*Important: The first round of the People’s Choice vote, which will determine the four Continental winners, ends at 10 PM Vietnam time on September 4th. Voting will then continue to select two candidates who will advance to the Top 12, and ultimately one candidate who will advance to the Top 6. Voting will close during the Miss World Final, with all 111 national ambassadors eligible for the public vote.

The remaining positions in each continental region's Top 10 will be filled by the judges’ selections.

IMPORTANT: The overall winners of TALENT and SPORTS qualify for the Top 40 regardless of their continental groups.

TOP 20

The Top 20 will consist of five automatic qualifiers and 15 contestants selected by the judges.

The five automatic places are:

  • 2 Beauty With a Purpose (Top 2)
  • 1 Multimedia winner
  • 1 Head-to-Head winner
  • 1 Top Model winner

The judges will then select 15 additional contestants, with the selection structured to ensure that the final Top 20 contains five contestants from each of the four continental regions.

TOP 12

From the Top 20, the competition moves into a new stage.

The judges will select:

  • Top 2 from Africa
  • Top 2 from Americas & Caribbean
  • Top 2 from Asia & Oceania
  • Top 2 from Europe
  • Top 2 Beauty With a Purpose

At the same time, the public will have an important role in determining the outcome, selecting two People’s Choice contestants through public voting, and they could be anyone.

Together, these selections form the Top 12.

TOP 6

The Top 12 will then be narrowed to six finalists, each qualifying through a specific category:

  • 1 Beauty With a Purpose
  • 1 Africa
  • 1 Americas & Caribbean
  • 1 Asia & Oceania
  • 1 Europe
  • 1 People’s Choice

These six contestants will become the finalists competing for the Miss World crown.

FINAL RESULTS

From the Top 6, the final decision will be made by the judges and three overall positions will be announced:

Miss World 2026
1st Runner-Up
2nd Runner-Up

The new format therefore combines the continental structure of Miss World adapted in the two most recent editions with Beauty With a Purpose taking center stage and guaranteeing one position in the Top 6. You and your vote will also play an important role, determining one of the six finalists.
