Miss World Tanzania 2026, Latricia Ian, has been promoting Tanzania’s rich cultural heritage and the Kiswahili language during an official visit to France, where she met with Tanzania’s Ambassador to France, H.E. Saidi Othman Yakubu.

The meeting focused on the important role young people can play in promoting Tanzania’s culture, tourism, and the global recognition of Kiswahili, one of Africa’s most widely spoken languages.

Latricia is in France to participate in the World Kiswahili Day celebrations, an international initiative that highlights the language’s growing global significance while strengthening cultural diplomacy and international cooperation.

During their meeting at the Tanzanian Embassy in Paris, Ambassador Yakubu commended Latricia for representing Tanzania at Miss World and praised her commitment to showcasing the country’s rich traditions, vibrant culture, and tourism potential. He also emphasized the unique influence that young leaders and the beauty community can have in raising global awareness of Tanzania and the Kiswahili language.

Latricia reaffirmed her dedication to serving as a proud ambassador for her country, expressing her commitment to using her international platform to encourage more people to learn Kiswahili while celebrating Tanzania’s cultural identity and welcoming spirit.

Latricia will represent Tanzania at the 75th anniversary edition of the Miss World Festival in Vietnam. In 2027, her country will host Miss World, in the month of May.
