Miss World Trinidad and Tobago, Georgia-Lee Gill, took part in the La Horquetta/Talparo Children’s Carnival Fiesta this week, highlighting the strength of community and the importance of cultural spaces for young people.

Originally from Arima, Gill shared how the event reflected the power of togetherness, bringing families and neighbours together through music, performance, and celebration.

She praised the courage of the children who took to the stage, noting that many adults still struggle with stage fright, while the young performers delivered their acts with confidence and heart. Gill also emphasized the role of family support, describing how parents and relatives cheered from the front of the stage, creating an atmosphere of encouragement that helped the children shine.

The event marked a relevant moment for Gill, who served for the first time as both a judge and co-host.

She also expressed gratitude to Phillip Watts, Member of Parliament for La Horquetta/Talparo, for creating a platform that celebrates culture, talent, and youth empowerment.
