Miss World Somalia 2026, Foziya Abdullahi, is part of the cast of Dabin, a 13-episode thriller filmed in Mogadishu. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Victor Gatonye, the series is available on Asal TV and the Nasiye App.
The series follows a group of bus passengers stranded in the wilderness after their vehicle breaks down, only to discover that a killer is hiding among them. Dabin, which means “trap” or “snare” in Somali, began in 2024 as a cultural exchange and filmmaking training initiative before developing into an award-winning production.
Dabin recently received recognition from the Somali Film Agency, with its cast, crew and production companies honored for their contribution to the country’s film industry. During the ceremony, officials praised the series for showcasing Somalia’s landscapes, culture and growing film sector, while also encouraging future productions to explore themes such as environmental awareness.
Foziya Abdullahi is preparing to represent Somalia at the 75th Anniversary edition of Miss World, which will be held in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5.
