Miss World Serbia 2026, Simona Manojlović, attended the Africa Day Ceremony held at the Palace of Serbia in Belgrade, joining dignitaries and guests in celebrating the long-standing friendship between Serbia and African nations.

Observed annually on May 25, Africa Day marks the founding of the African Union in 1963. Since 2017, Serbia has officially commemorated the occasion as the Day of Friendship with the People of Africa, recognizing historic ties forged through anti-colonial cooperation and the legacy of the Non-Aligned Movement.

During the ceremony, Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships between Serbia and African countries, particularly through education, youth exchanges, and development initiatives. He also emphasized the role of the “World in Serbia” programme, which has enabled thousands of students from Africa and other regions to pursue higher education in Serbia.

The event reaffirmed Serbia’s commitment to expanding collaboration with African partners in areas of mutual interest.

Reflecting on the occasion, Simona Manojlović described it as “a true honour” to participate in a celebration that strengthens the enduring bonds between Serbia and the countries of Africa. She noted that culture connects people across borders and that beauty finds its greatest purpose when it carries messages of peace, respect, and humanity.

Simona will represent Serbia at the 75th Anniversary Edition of Miss World, to be held in Vietnam, from August 9 to September 5.
