Portugal has selected its representative for the 75th Anniversary edition of Miss World, to be held in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5. Crowned during an event in Amarante covered by local television, Vitória Babinetchi, 22, will represent the country at Miss World.

Born in Porto, Babinetchi moved with her family to Guimarães at a young age. Known as the “Birthplace of Portugal,” the historic city is widely regarded as the cradle of the Portuguese nation, where the country’s first king, Afonso Henriques, claimed Portugal’s independence nearly nine centuries ago.

A graduate in Communication Sciences, Babinetchi is a gymnastics coach and former athlete. She says the sport instilled in her the values of discipline, dedication, and perseverance that continue to shape her life today.

The crowning ceremony, held in Amarante, also marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Miss World Portugal organization under the license of CNB Portugal.

Babinetchi was crowned by Maria Amélia Baptista, the first Portuguese-Brazilian woman to win the national title and Portugal’s representative at the 72nd edition of Miss World, held in India in 2025.

Reflecting on her reign, Baptista shared:

“Competing at Miss World has been the most rewarding experience of my life so far. To me, there is no pageant like Miss World, and I’m delighted that my successor feels the same way. I wish her every success.”

Following her crowning, Babinetchi shared her excitement:

“I’m still processing all the emotions of being crowned Miss World Portugal. This is an incredible opportunity, and it is a tremendous honor to represent my country at Miss World in Vietnam. I will give my very best.”
