The reigning Miss World shined in the Miss World Thailand 2026 final, where she joined contestants on stage during the opening number and delivered an emotion speech before crowning her national successor.

Kanteera “Namphueng” Techaphatthanakul was crowned Miss World Thailand 2026 on Sunday, May 10, at MCC Hall, The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Bangkok. She will now represent Thailand at the 75th Anniversary Edition of the Miss World Festival, scheduled to take place in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026, with the Grand Final in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event, held under the theme “The WORLD is TRUE” and presented by TRUE 5G, was organized by TPNGTERO with a focus on inspiring young women to develop projects and leadership initiatives connected to “Beauty With a Purpose”.
One of the most electrifying moments of the evening came during the opening number, which ended with the entrance of reigning Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri among the contestants to the song One in a Million from the film Miss Congeniality. The first Thai woman to win the Miss World crown is, after all, one in a million!
The atmosphere inside MCC Hall was energetic from the beginning, with all 21 contestants participating in the production opening alongside Opal. Host Arm Korakarn Sutthikoset later introduced an extensive judging panel featuring representatives from media, entertainment, fashion, business, and marketing industries in Thailand.
Among the VIP guests of the night was Miss World’s President and Chairperson, Julia Morley CBE.
The competition included several fast-track categories, including Talent, Sports, Modeling, Head-to-Head Challenge, and Multimedia Communication Skills. Additional awards included Miss Popular Vote and Miss E-Commerce. The Top 12 finalists later delivered speeches centered on the “Beauty With a Purpose” platform before advancing to the decisive stages of the competition.
The final question round featured Namphueng Kanteera Techaphatthanakul, Kim Jirapat Dathumma, and Malaika Kar. Before the winner was announced, Opal Suchata delivered her farewell walk and emotional speech as Miss World Thailand 2025, receiving a standing ovation from the audience.
Namphueng was later crowned by Opal and received the Ocean Empress crown, officially beginning her reign as Miss World Thailand 2026.
The final results were:

* Winner: Kanteera “Namphueng” Techaphatthanakul
* First runner-up: Malaika Kar
* Second runner-up: Kim Jirapat Dathumma
* Third runner-up: Atina Khonthornsaphan Vasnaachasakul
* Fourth runner-up: Pannika Boonsiritakorn
The new Miss World Thailand Kanteera Techaphattanakul, or Namphung, is a 25-year-old medical technologist and Chiang Mai University graduate with additional studies in Public Administration.
Inspired by her own experience as a stateless child, she created the “Dare Your Dream Project” to expand educational opportunities for stateless children and youth in Thailand.
Her initiative supports scholarships, life skills, and long-term development, aiming to reduce inequality and help vulnerable young people build stable futures.
Namphung has also received several national academic and leadership awards.
She will now prepare to represent Thailand on home soil in Asia during Miss World’s 75th anniversary celebrations in Vietnam.
