Miss World Namibia 2026, Elly Aron, joined members of the diplomatic community during the weekend to celebrate International Women’s Day at the ADS Charity Concert, an event dedicated to supporting charitable initiatives across Namibia.

The evening brought together diplomats, community leaders and supporters of philanthropy in a shared effort to raise funds for projects that uplift and empower vulnerable communities. All proceeds from the concert will go directly toward charitable programs aimed at assisting those most in need.

Elly expressed her appreciation to ADS President Mrs. Elena Shrivastava and the entire ADS team for hosting the meaningful gathering, which highlighted the importance of collaboration between the diplomatic community and civil society in advancing social causes.

Alongside her participation in the charity event, Elly Aron continues to focus on her advocacy work addressing teenage pregnancy prevention in Namibia. Through education and community engagement, her initiative seeks to provide young girls with information, support and opportunities that help them build healthier and more empowered futures.

Elly is aware that teenage pregnancy remains a significant social challenge in Namibia. Recent data indicates that around 19% of girls aged 15–19 become pregnant, meaning nearly one in five teenagers experiences early motherhood. The country’s adolescent birth rate is about 66 births per 1,000 girls aged 15–19, one of the higher rates in the region. Experts link the issue to a combination of factors including poverty, limited access to comprehensive sex education, gender inequality, and gaps in reproductive health services. Between 2021 and 2023 alone, more than 7,400 teenage pregnancies were recorded nationwide, highlighting the continued need for education, prevention programs, and community support initiatives aimed at empowering young girls to stay in school and pursue their futures.
