The Sudha Reddy Foundation, in association with the MEIL Foundation, announced the 2nd Edition of the Pink Power Run, an event dedicated to raising mass awareness and mobilizing funds in the fight against breast cancer. The announcement was made in August at an exclusive press conference at Trident Hyderabad, setting the stage for one of the city’s most anticipated events of the year.

This year’s run carries the inspiring tagline “Stride and Shine”, a call to move forward with courage, hope, and resilience. It reflects the belief that every step, whether taken in healing, in solidarity, or in advocacy, has the power to light the way for others. The theme honors survivors, remembers those lost, supports those currently in the fight, and reminds every participant that their stride can spark change and their shine can inspire an entire community.

Adding global resonance to the occasion are reigning Miss World Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who has been dedicated to this cause for over four years, and the continental titleholders: Maja Klajda (Miss World Europe), Aurélie Joachim (Miss World Caribbean), Krishnah Gravidez (Miss World Asia), Jéssica Pedroso (Miss World Americas), Jasmine Stringer (Miss World Oceania), and Selma Kamanya (Miss World Namibia and Africa’s 1st runner-up). Their presence brings both attention and power to the event and the cause.

Also attending will be Julia Morley CBE, President of the Miss World Organization, alongside Sudha Reddy, the visionary behind the Pink Power Run. On Sunday, September 28, 2025, these international icons will join thousands at Necklace Road, turning the heart of Hyderabad into a sea of pink, symbolizing solidarity, strength, and hope.

Running With a Purpose

The Pink Power Run is not just a marathon; it is a powerful movement uniting communities in the fight against breast cancer. Beyond the finish line, it emphasizes the life-saving importance of early detection, advocates for regular preventive screenings, and stands in unwavering solidarity with survivors.

The 2025 edition will feature 10K, 5K, and 3K runs, welcoming participants of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels. A defining feature of Pink Power Run 2.0 will be the inclusion of women runners from rural communities, a bold stride toward narrowing the urban-rural health awareness gap and ensuring the message of hope and prevention resonates far beyond city limits.

Opal’s Voice Goes Global

The reigning Miss World, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who had a benign lump removed from her breast as a teenager and has since become an ambassador for the cause, will lead the way in spreading this important message worldwide. Speaking from personal experience, she said:

“Though I was lucky that my lump was benign, at an early age, I walked through the fear and uncertainty this journey brings. I want to tell every woman, in Hyderabad and across the world, that you are never alone. Knowledge, early screening, and the strength of a united community can and do save lives.”
