Miss World participants reunite in Namibia for a unique experience highlighting the country’s culture, heritage, and natural beauty.

Sixteen delegates from the 72nd Miss World Festival, joined by reigning and former Miss World national titleholders, reunited in Namibia for the Global Namibia One (GN1) Summit, an initiative powered by the Namibia Tourism Board and hosted alongside Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya.

In line with the vision consistently emphasized by Miss World CEO Julia Morley, GN1 stood as a reaffirmation of the Miss World family as a living global sisterhood, united beyond borders, cultures, and titles, and bound by lifelong values of unity, mutual respect, and service.

After two weeks of traveling and cultural activities across Namibia, it can be said that all the participants played an active role in amplifying Namibia’s story on the global stage.

Among the distinguished participants were:

  • Nandini Gupta – Miss World India
  • Monica Kezia – Miss World Indonesia
  • Princess Issie – Miss World Cameroon
  • Nuria Assis – Miss World Angola
  • Courtney Tjongwe – Miss World Zimbabwe

Showcasing Namibia to the World

The initiative was strategically designed to spotlight Namibia’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, tourism appeal, and economic potential. Delegates traveled across iconic destinations including Etosha National Park, Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, Sandwich Harbour, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, and the Pink Lake, immersing themselves in the country’s landscapes, conservation efforts, creative industries, and local communities.

At the Walvis Bay Salt Factory, delegates learned about salt production alongside the company’s environmental stewardship and social responsibility initiatives. The visit was described by participants as “enlightening, inspiring, and productive.” A desert-and-ocean adventure with Sandwich Dune Tours, hosted by GN1 and the Namibia Tourism Board, was widely shared as an “unforgettable” experience.

Cultural immersion stood at the heart of the journey. Delegates were deeply moved by their visit to the Himba community, one of Namibia’s most culturally rich tribes.

“Humbled and honored to visit the Himba tribe, a beautiful glimpse into timeless culture, strength, and tradition,” shared Nada Koussa (Lebanon).

Across their social platforms, participants captured the emotional resonance of the experience: reflections on Etosha’s wildlife, Deadvlei’s ancient trees, the meeting of desert and ocean, and Namibia’s rare sense of stillness and awe.

The GN1 Summit, marking the culmination of the initiative, was honored by the presence of Hon. Sanet Steenkamp, Minister of Education, Youth, Innovation, Sports, Arts and Culture. The Summit convened government leaders, business stakeholders, diplomatic representatives, and creatives for dialogue, cultural exchange, and celebration.

Delegates also engaged with key partners including MTC, KGK Diamonds, Walvis Bay Salt Factory, the Namibia Tourism Board, and regional authorities, strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Global Namibia One was the visionary project of Selma Kamanya, the first Miss World Namibia candidate under the current Miss NGO Organization leadership, and a Top 8-finalist in Miss World. Her dedication and purpose-driven leadership laid the foundation for meaningful international collaboration and long-term impact.

GN1 further demonstrated that Beauty With a Purpose extends in developing economies and purpose-driven leadership also supporting tourism growth, economic development, trade visibility, job creation, and national GDP. Throughout their stay, many delegates published features and articles in their home countries, expanding Namibia’s international visibility.

As the Miss World sisters departed, GN1 stood as a testament to the power of cultural diplomacy, strengthening bonds across continents while positioning Namibia as a compelling, credible, and inspiring global partner.
