Andrea Romero meets Her Majesty Queen Sofía of Spain in Miami

Miss World Colombia, Andrea Romero, was among the distinguished guests at the prestigious Sophia Awards for Excellence Gala, held in Miami under the leadership of the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute.
During the event, Andrea had the honor of meeting Her Majesty Queen Sofía of Spain, where she shared insights into her Beauty With a Purpose project, “InspirArt,” which focuses on supporting children and young people through art and social engagement.
The gala, held within the framework of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, brought together an international audience of governors, mayors, members of the diplomatic corps, consuls, and business leaders, reinforcing its status as one of the most significant global gatherings of the year.
Andrea Romero expressed her gratitude:
“Your Majesty Queen Sofía, thank you for the special invitation. I had the honor of participating in an event that celebrates culture, history, and global impact. Representing Colombia in these spaces is a responsibility I assume with deep pride.”
She added that her invitation to the gala was closely linked to her work through “InspirArt,” a project aligned with the values of excellence and purpose promoted by the Institute.
The evening also honored distinguished figures Jorge M. and Darlene Pérez, and Frank and Haydée Rainieri, whose contributions to culture and community continue to inspire across borders.
A highlight of the night was the official proclamation declaring March 21, 2026, as Queen Sofía Spanish Institute Day in Miami-Dade County, recognizing the institution’s cultural and social impact.
Presided over by Her Majesty Queen Sofía, the gala reinforced the strong ties between Spain, Florida and its Spanish-speaking community.
