Beauty With a Purpose initiative promoted by Miss World Brazil supports children with rare diseases through partnerships, donations, and community engagement

Reigning Miss World Brazil, Gabriela Botelho, hosted the first Charity Gala Dinner in support of Casa de Maria, a Brazilian institution dedicated to welcoming and assisting children living with rare diseases and their families.

An ambassador and volunteer for the organization, Gabriela described the event, which happened at the Automóvel Clube of Minas Gerais, in the city of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais state, as one of the most special moments of her journey as Miss World Brazil, highlighting her desire to use the platform to create meaningful social impact through Beauty With a Purpose.

The evening brought together entrepreneurs, partners, public figures, and supporters committed to raising awareness for rare diseases in Brazil. Among the guests were state and municipal representatives, CNB national director João Ricardo Camilo Dias, and the reigning Miss World Minas Gerais, Giovanna Starling.

During the gala dinner and fundraising event, important partnerships and donations were secured for the future of Casa de Maria, including an agreement with a genetics clinic that will provide five genetic tests per month for children assisted by the institution. Access to diagnosis remains one of the greatest challenges for families affected by rare diseases in Brazil, where proper identification of a condition can take years.

Additional public resources were also obtained to strengthen the institution’s work in the coming weeks, alongside the donation of a vehicle that will help transport children and their families to treatment centers. Many families currently travel long distances each week to access specialized care.

Casa de Maria currently provides continuous and free assistance to more than 100 children and their families, while dozens more remain on the waiting list for support.

Gabriela emphasized that the evening reinforced her commitment to the purpose she carries as Miss World Brazil, expressing hope that the gala will become the first of many initiatives dedicated to transforming lives of children in need.

She will represent Brazil at the 75th Anniversary Edition of Miss World, scheduled to take place in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
