Through her Beauty With a Purpose project, The Beauty Movement, Ruth Thomas joined partners in empowering young people, promoting inclusion, and proving that dreams can flourish beyond limitations.

Miss World Botswana Ruth Thomas continued her advocacy work through The Beauty Movement, her Beauty With a Purpose project, joining partners from FNB Botswana and Project124 Africa in an initiative focused on empowering young people and demonstrating the power of dreams, inclusion, and opportunity.
Describing the experience, Thomas emphasized that beauty extends far beyond appearances.
“True beauty is not always about what the eyes can see but what the heart and soul can feel. Today was about forging bright futures and highlighting the power of dreams.”
She also praised the role of partnerships in creating lasting impact, noting that meaningful change becomes possible when organizations work together to support communities and provide opportunities for young people.
The Beauty Movement was launched by Thomas as her official Beauty With a Purpose project ahead of her journey to Miss World. The initiative seeks to redefine traditional perceptions of beauty by promoting confidence, self-worth, and inclusion, particularly among individuals who are often overlooked or marginalized. The project has also focused on empowering survivors of gender-based violence and encouraging conversations around self-esteem and acceptance.
Since its launch, The Beauty Movement has worked alongside organizations including Project124 Africa and the Ratong Centre, aiming to combine emotional well-being, personal development, and economic empowerment through community-based programs.
During the recent outreach activity, Thomas highlighted the importance of encouraging young people to dream beyond limitations and circumstances, particularly those living with disabilities.
“The Beauty Movement believes that we are more than the circumstances we are born into,” she shared, describing the experience as an inspiring reminder of the power of imagination and ambition.
Ruth Thomas will represent Botswana at the 75th Anniversary edition of the Miss World Festival, which will be held in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
