That was the beginning of a great journey in Tanzania!

On July 16, Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata, accompanied by Miss World Africa and 1st Runner-Up Hasset Dereje from Ethiopia, and Julia Morley CBE, visited the National Arts Council of Tanzania (BASATA) as part of their official agenda Tanzania.
Their presence in country is part of the ongoing Royal Tour campaign, a special initiative aimed at internationally promoting Tanzania through tourism, arts, and culture. At BASATA headquarters, they were warmly welcomed by the Executive Secretary of the Council, Dr. Kedmon Mapana, along with senior officials from the arts sector.
During the visit, Miss World, Miss World Africa and Julia, learned about BASATA’s work in nurturing talent, safeguarding artistic values, and promoting creativity among Tanzanian artists.
Dr. Mapana emphasized the importance of their visit, describing it as a unique opportunity for Tanzania to spotlight its cultural richness and creative industries through globally recognized figures. He reaffirmed Tanzania’s readiness to collaborate with all stakeholders in advancing the creative sector for the benefit of youth and the nation as a whole.











The international guests expressed their joy and appreciation for the warm welcome, as well as their admiration for the beauty of Tanzanian arts and culture. They pledged to act as international ambassadors, promoting Tanzania to the world.
They also signed the book for special visitors to BASATA and Tanzania!
