As part of their impactful tour of Tanzania, Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata, and Miss World Africa 2025, Hasset Dereje, paid a visit to the Mama Jasiri initiative in Mwananyamala, Dar es Salaam. This inspiring program is dedicated to equipping vulnerable girls with creative and entrepreneurial skills, offering them a path to independence and a brighter future.

Mama Jasiri works with young women who have dropped out of school, often due to circumstances beyond their control, and provides them with hands-on training in handcraft, design, and business development.

The visit deeply resonated with Miss World Africa, Hasset Dereje, whose own Beauty With a Purpose project shares a similar mission of empowering young women.

“This is so close to my heart,” she said. “Helping girls rise from difficult situations and giving them a chance to develop meaningful skills, that’s what my own project is all about. I’m proud to see such incredible initiatives thriving across Africa.”

Miss World Opal Suchata addressed the girls with words of encouragement, reminding them that their potential is limitless.

“You are full of potential, and the world needs your voice, your ideas, and your creativity,” she said.

Recognizing Mama Jasiri’s life-changing work, Julia Morley CBE, Chairperson of the Miss World Organization, pledged a donation of USD 5,000 to help the initiative grow and reach even more girls in need.
