Hyderabad, September 26 – Miss World Opal Suchata Chuangsri and six continental representatives were warmly welcomed back to Hyderabad with a press conference at the Trident Hotel. Just months after being crowned on May 31, the team has returned to the city to take part in the Pink Power Run, raising awareness of breast cancer and supporting local charities.

Steve Douglas opened the event by recalling the success of the 72nd Miss World Festival, which generated more than half a billion views across Miss World’s social media platforms. He praised Hyderabad for its hospitality and then invited each queen to speak about her Beauty With a Purpose mission.

Jasmine Stringer (Miss World Oceania, Australia) said she continues to fight against domestic violence in her home country: “When we were here in May, Julia Morley reminded us that our Beauty With a Purpose projects are not for the pageant but for life. I carry that with me as I honor my friend Tara and work to protect women facing abuse.”

Jéssica Pedroso (Miss World Americas, Brazil) underlined the urgency of breast cancer prevention: “In Brazil, 74,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Across the Americas, the figure is more than 200,000. We must speak openly about prevention and the importance of regular check-ups.”

Aurélie Joachim (Miss World Caribbean, Martinique) celebrated her island’s achievement: “Becoming Miss World Caribbean and a runner-up was Martinique’s best result in history. It shows that even small islands can dream big and achieve.”

Opal Suchata Chuangsri (Reigning Miss World, Thailand) reflected on her first months as Miss World: “Since May, we have traveled to many countries, always carrying the Beauty With a Purpose flag. Breast cancer awareness has been close to my heart for years. Prevention matters, but what is truly essential is making sure that all women, everywhere, have access to treatment.”

Maja Klajda (Miss World Europe, Poland) reported the growth of her youth-focused initiative: “Back home, my project has expanded to more cities. My hope is to extend it across Europe, encouraging resilience and well-being among young people.”

Krishnah Gravidez (Miss World Asia, Philippines) expressed her happiness to return: “This is my third time in Hyderabad and I am always touched by the warmth here. My project, ‘Color the World with Kindness,’ is about creating environments where every child feels safe, loved, and supported, in both schools and homes.”

Selma Kamanya (Miss World Africa’s 1st Runner-Up, Namibia) spoke about her two-fold mission: “Through the Innonation Foundation we promote food security by teaching families how to grow their own food with backyard gardens so that everyone can have a warm meal on their tables. I am also working to promote Namibian tourism as a catalyst to international trade and new investment.”

The press conference closed with Douglas announcing that on September 27 Miss World and the continentals will join an evening of compassion in Hyderabad, supporting underprivileged communities including visually impaired and orphaned children.

The Pink Power Run will take place on the following day, on September 28 at 5:30 AM, uniting international representatives and local champions in the fight against breast cancer.
