Hasset Dereje, Miss World Africa from Ethiopia, took part as master of ceremonies at the annual “Hope Night” organized by the “Hope for the Fatherless” initiative.

The event surpassed its fundraising target of 7.8 million Ethiopian birr, with contributions coming from attendees, donors, and auction participants. Funds raised will support programs for vulnerable children.

In a statement following the event, Dereje acknowledged the role of organizers, volunteers, and supporters, noting the impact of the initiative on children and families. She also recognized the leadership behind the organization and its continued work in providing support and care.

Dereje emphasized that her involvement aligns with her Beauty With a Purpose advocacy. She added that the initiative’s work will continue, with further efforts planned to expand its reach and assist more children in need.

The event forms part of ongoing community-driven efforts in Ethiopia aimed at improving the lives of children without parental support.
