Priyanka Chopra celebrates one of her country´s superpowers: Indian craft
The September-October edition of VOGUE India brings the first Miss World winner of the millennium and Hollywood star Priyanka Chopra Jonas on the cover.
The issue highlights one of India’s superpowers, the Indian craft.
Chopra still holds strong to the idea of honing her craft, after over two decades into the business. She stepped into custom creations by Indian designers such as Ashdeen, Amit Aggarwal, Varun Bahl, and a bias-cut sari dress from Savio Jon in a tangerine hue, the perfect foil to Bvlgari’s Tubogas stunner from their high jewelry line.
“Whatever I wear, I wear with love and pride, to celebrate its story and its creators,” she said.
An inspiration to so many people around the globe, this is what Chopra Jones had to say about paving the way for those around her: “The purpose behind my decision to produce female-led films is to amplify women’s voices and stories in an industry that is still very male-dominated.”
Priyanka won the Miss World title in 2000, in London. She was 18 years old. In 2002, she was cast as the female lead in Abbas–Mustan's romantic thriller Humraaz (2002), in which she debuted as an actress. Chopra never stopped acting and a few years later she became a major Hollywood star, a story that is to be continued!
