Miss World 1976, the reigning Miss Jamaica World, and cultural figures were honored at the Fashion Elevation showcase held in New Kingston, Jamaica, where custom-designed dolls inspired by their lives and careers were unveiled.

Among those recognized were Miss World winner Cindy Breakspeare, fashion figure Joan McDonald, Nevaeh Allen, and reggae singer Marcia Griffiths. The event took place at The Summit in New Kingston.

The showcase was organized by Mahogany Entertainment Network in collaboration with Island Dolls founder Beverley Robotham-Reynolds. Handcrafted dolls were created to reflect defining moments and personal styles of each honoree.

Breakspeare’s doll recreated elements of her Miss World coronation gown.

Speaking about the tribute, Breakspeare said the experience was meaningful as she marks 50 years since winning Miss World. 

The evening also honored Jamaican supermodel Althea Laing with a custom fragrance in recognition of her contributions to fashion. Fashion insider Weston Haughton was also recognized for his impact on modeling and fashion development.

Fashion Elevation brought together designers, creatives, and cultural figures from across the Caribbean and beyond. The event also featured a showcase by Septimius The Great, who presented his Septimius Couture collection.
