Miss Côte d’Ivoire, Fatima Koné, recently visited Katiola in the Hambol region, where she met with local youth leaders, celebrated the area’s cultural heritage, and took part in a community outreach initiative. During her visit, Koné held discussions with members of the National Youth Council of Côte d’Ivoire (CNJCI) in Katiola, commending their efforts to support young people and promote local development.

She also visited the Maison de la Potière, a center showcasing the traditional pottery craftsmanship of the Mangoro people. The women artisans of Katiola are recognized for preserving generations-old ceramic traditions, with pottery remaining one of the region’s most distinctive cultural and economic activities. Katiola has long been known throughout Côte d’Ivoire for its celebrated pottery school and the work of Mangoro craftswomen, often referred to as the “potters of Katiola.”  

Koné concluded the day with a visit to a local shelter, where she participated in an activity focused on solidarity and community support. She said the trip strengthened her pride in Hambol, its youth, women, and cultural richness.

A native of Katiola’s Hambol region, Koné was crowned Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2025 in Abidjan and will represent Côte d’Ivoire at the 75th Anniversary Edition of the Miss World Festival, scheduled to take place in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
