Jessica, who was Miss World Australia and placed as 2nd runner-up at Miss World 2012, wrote the book with her mom, a cancer survivor

September 4 marked the official global launch of Miss World 2012 2nd runner-up, Jessica Kahawaty from Australia, and her mother, Rita Kahawaty's 'Mamam Rita' Cookbook. It sounds as though they worked hard on the long process of publishing this book. Jessica writes a touching piece:

"This book is a homage to Lebanon and the Mediterranean. As many of you know, my mother has struggled with cancer for over 10 years and it was my dream to put her recipes in writing for the world to taste. Comfort meant mama’s cooking and to think the world can now experience a glimpse of our home is surreal. When we launched the delivery food brand Mama Rita in the UAE, we realized how long it would take us to share our food with the world. A cookbook was the best way to reach our followers globally and all those who have supported us along the way”.

She thanked everyone who was a part of this and to their publisher Penguin Random House. You can order it on Amazon globally.

Their press tour has started, so stay tuned and see if you can meet them as you get your autographed copy!
