Gran Canaria has been confirmed as the host island for Miss World Spain 2026, with the national final set to take place in San Bartolomé de Tirajana from April 14 to 19. The winner will earn the title Miss World Spain 2026 and represent the country at the 73rd Miss World Festival.

The announcement was made at FITUR at the Canary Islands stand, following an agreement between Grupotel Hotels & Resorts and Sala Garbo’s. The presentation was led by Yilenia Vega, Councillor for Festivities and Events of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council; Cres del Olmo, president of the organization Nuestra Belleza España; and Ana Pilar Suárez, head of the local organizing committee in Gran Canaria.

The grand final will be held on Saturday, April 18, at Sala Garbo’s, where the current titleholder, Corina Mrazek from Tenerife, will crown her successor. Throughout the competition week, candidates will take part in several challenges, including sports, talent, top model, multimedia, social project, and national costume, among others.

The gala will be directed by Cres del Olmo and Nuestra Belleza España, the national license holder for Miss World in Spain since 2017. Faithful to the Miss World philosophy, “Beauty with a Purpose”, the competition emphasizes values and social commitment alongside beauty. Each contestant presents a charitable cause representing her province. In line with international Miss World standards, there will be no swimsuit parade, a format the organization has not included for many years.

Spain has produced several notable contestants over more than 7 decades of Miss World history, including Carmen Cervera (Baroness Thyssen and Miss World 1961 lady-in-waiting), Bárbara Rey (Miss World 1971 semifinalist), Lorena Bernal (1999 Top 10 finalist), Carla Barber (2011 finalist), Paula Pérez (2023 finalist), and Mireia Lalaguna, the first and only Spanish woman to win Miss World, making history for the country, in 2015.

With Gran Canaria as its stage, Miss World Spain 2026 promises a week celebrating purpose-driven beauty, cultural diversity, and social impact in one of Spain’s most iconic destinations.
