Gallipoli, a stunning coastal town in the Puglia region of southern Italy, famous for its historic center situated on a limestone island, pristine beaches, and vibrant summer nightlife (its name translates to “beautiful city” in ancient Greek), is once again hosting the Miss Mondo Italia (Miss World Italy) festival.
One hundred candidates selected through regional competitions across the country arrived in the city on June 3 for a series of activities before the field was narrowed down to 30 finalists, all competing for the national crown and the opportunity to represent Italy at the Miss World Festival in two years.
Organizers explained that the finalists were chosen for their talent, personality, cultural awareness, communication skills, and social commitment.
The twelve-day event features a packed schedule of activities, including talent and sports competitions, photo shoots, social media productions, masterclasses, and meetings with the judging panel, all designed to showcase the contestants’ skills and personalities.
Lucrezia will represent Italy in Miss World in 2026, Sofia in 2027, and the new winner in 2028.The Grand Final will take place on June 14. The winner will become the first confirmed participant for the 2028 edition of the Miss World Festival. In Vietnam later this year, Italy will be represented by Lucrezia Mangilli, Miss Mondo Italia 2024, while Sofia Viola will travel to Tanzania in May 2027 to represent her country in Miss World.
