India has chosen its representative for the 74th edition of Miss World. In a celebration of elegance, intelligence and purpose, Sadhvi Sail of Goa was crowned Femina Miss India World 2026, earning the right to represent the nation in Tanzania in May 2027.

The grand finale of the 61st Femina Miss India, held on April 18 at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar, brought together thirty state representatives from across the country in India’s most celebrated national beauty festival. At the climax of the evening, outgoing titleholder Nikita Porwal, who’s yet to represent India at the 75th Anniversary Edition of Miss World later this year, in Vietnam, placed the crown on her successor, marking the start of a new chapter for India.

India remains the most successful country in Miss World history alongside Venezuela, with six victories, and has consistently produced women who have excelled not only in beauty and stage presence, but in cinema, business, medicine, philanthropy, media and public life. Sadhvi Sail carries that proud tradition forward.

Representing the coastal state of Goa, Sadhvi impressed judges and audiences alike with her calm confidence, articulate answers, grounded personality and modern sense of purpose.

According to official contestant information, she studied at Amrita Vidyalayam and later attended the University of British Columbia, Canada, reflecting an academic background with international exposure. Professionally, she is described as a model and entrepreneur.

Her interests include pottery, beekeeping, taxidermy, photography, sketching and badminton.

Her favorite quote is:

“You can be the master of your fate, you can be the captain of your soul, but you have to realize that life is coming from you, not at you and that takes time.”

Throughout the Indian festival, Sadhvi stood out with her bright and articulate answers.

When asked about her motto in life, she said:

“Leap, and the net will appear.”

She expanded by saying growth begins when one trusts oneself enough to move forward without certainty.

On the meaning of beauty with purpose in 2026, her response was:

“Beauty with purpose is about leading with authenticity and compassion… using your voice with intention.”

When discussing the challenge that most strengthened her character, she candidly spoke of overcoming self-doubt after moving from a modest town into a more global environment. Rather than compare herself to others, she learned to celebrate and support other women, a mature and timely message in today’s world.

Proud Daughter of Goa

One of her most emotional moments came when asked what it means to represent Goa.

Sadhvi spoke highly of the state’s quieter rural communities, fishermen, artisans and families who preserve local traditions. She said representing Goa means carrying their stories, resilience and way of life onto a larger platform.

Joining Sadhvi in the winners’ circle were:

* Sree Advaita G (Union Territory), crowned 2nd Runner-up

The finale unfolded with scale and energy. Students from KIIT and KISS opened the show with vibrant performances, while hosts Maniesh Paul and Sarah Jane Dias guided the audience through the evening.

Contestants progressed through multiple rounds, including introductions, evening wear and a demanding question-and-answer segment. The Top 15 and Top 8 finalists were assessed by a distinguished jury that included notable personalities from entertainment, sport and fashion.

Special segments also celebrated India’s textile heritage and design artistry, reinforcing how national contests in India often function as both cultural showcase and talent platform.

With the national crown now secured, Sadhvi Sail turns her focus to the international stage.

She will represent India at the 74th Miss World Festival in Tanzania in May 2027, where participants from around the globe will gather for a month of cultural exchange, challenges, humanitarian initiatives and the final competition.
