Elly Aron, a software development student from Ohangwena, has been officially crowned as Miss World Namibia 2026.

At just 20 years old, Aron was crowned Miss NGO Namibia 2025 during a national competition held on 20 September 2025, an event attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Namibia and several national leaders. 

Under a newly established structure, Miss NGO Namibia now serves as the official license holder of Miss World in the country. As a result, the winner of the Miss NGO Namibia competition automatically assumes the title of Miss World Namibia, a format that will remain in place going forward.

This transition was formally witnessed on 31 January 2026, during a ceremony attended by senior government officials, including Emma Kantema, Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare; Dino Ballotti, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture; and Gaudentia Kröhne, Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy. The event also welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador of the Indian High Commission to Namibia, alongside other national leaders.

Described by organizers as a symbolic “transition from power to power,” the occasion highlighted the growing institutional recognition of beauty pageants as platforms for leadership, advocacy, and social impact.

The new titleholder received her crown from Selma Kamanya, who beautifully represented Namibia at the 72nd Miss World Festival, where she achieved an outstanding Top 8 placement, 1st runner-up in Africa. 

Elly Aron is set to represent Namibia at the 73rd Miss World Festival.
