Miss World Martinique Laurence Fibleuil is using her Beauty With a Purpose project, “My Difference, My Strength,” to challenge perceptions of disability, promote inclusion, and encourage people to recognize that differences should never define a person’s potential.

Living with a brachial plexus impairment affecting her left arm, Fibleuil has transformed her own experience into a platform for advocacy. Through her project, she works to raise awareness about disability while encouraging greater understanding and acceptance across Martinique.

One of her flagship initiatives was organizing the inaugural Hector Sainte-Rose Paralympic Games, introducing children without disabilities to adaptive sports such as wheelchair basketball, boccia, and blind football. The event encouraged young people to experience inclusive sport firsthand and better understand the abilities of para-athletes.

Fibleuil has also led awareness campaigns in schools and specialized institutions, offering French Sign Language workshops, inspirational talks, confidence-building sessions, and discussions designed to break down stereotypes surrounding disability.

To expand her message beyond classrooms, she launched a series of videocasts featuring personal stories, sports experiences, and conversations about disability and inclusion. The series aims to foster meaningful dialogue while highlighting inspiring individuals and promoting a more inclusive society.

Her project has been carried out in partnership with organizations including the Comité Régional Handisport de Martinique, École Hector Sainte-Rose, secondary schools across Martinique, Association ELA, and ADAPEI.

Fibleuil will represent Martinique at the 75th Miss World Festival, to be held in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5.
