Giving Inspiration for Tomorrow is the Beauty With a Purpose initiative created by Miss World Bahamas 2026, Marechan Burrows, to support children experiencing emotional neglect and limited support systems across The Bahamas.

Inspired by her late father’s childhood experiences, the project partners with schools, guidance counselors and principals to identify children in need of encouragement. Each month, G.I.F.T. organizes a personalized birthday celebration based on the child’s own wishes, ensuring they feel seen, valued and celebrated.

In addition to the celebrations, the initiative provides ongoing mentorship, emotional support and practical assistance, including school uniforms and other essential resources whenever possible. The goal is to foster a lasting sense of self-worth, stability and belonging.

The program works with schools throughout Nassau and the Islands, having already benefited over 250 children, while also collaborating with community organizations and private sector partners. It has expanded to children’s homes, including the Grand Bahama Children’s Home, ensuring vulnerable children in institutional care are also supported.

“The initiative is deeply personal to me, inspired by my father’s experience of emotional neglect and not having a birthday celebration until adulthood. In many ways, this work is a tribute to his legacy”, explained Miss World Bahamas.

Since its launch, G.I.F.T. has impacted more than 250 children, helping create a culture of encouragement, emotional wellbeing and community care across The Bahamas.
