If I can do it, Anyone can!

Where do I begin! I had no idea that 2 weeks ago I was going to become Miss World New Zealand, let alone be traveling to India. I believe I have had one of the most fast-track journeys in Miss World. I did not ever think I would be given this opportunity. I got crowned Miss World New Zealand on the 4th of February, 2024. Travelled to Delhi on the 17th February.

A little about myself, I graduated with the Bachelor of Health Sciences majoring in population health. I then became a police officer in New Zealand. I served for 2 years as a frontline cop. I experienced situations that many don't. I worked in a South Auckland, the rough patch a community that I once belonged to. I grew up in a state house (government house) were I realised the ugly truth of some realities. I knew I wanted to make a change, help my friends get out of the generational poverty and a reoccurring cycle. I loved the job as I knew even if I make a change in one family, I am still making a difference. However, I left the police after seeing things that were so inhumane and avoidable. I do salute to those that push through the emotional toll it takes and keep us safe.

I then became a personal trainer, helped people get in the best shape and feel good about themselves. Uplifting their spirit and self-confidence. I also did real estate, were I would help and try getting people on the property ladder. So they set a great basis to grow and build a secure future.

I never thought that I would be given this platform, and now that I have, I want to give it my all and enjoy every moment I can. Learn and grow with the 116 other contestants. I am loving every moment of this journey.  I am standing alongside beautiful and such empowering women to push mountains.
