I feel privileged to be 1 of 117 delegates using our voices to advocate for the survival of tigers at the Tadoba festival. Tigers face extinction as habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflicts are ravaging their existence. Their numbers have plummeted by over 95% since the 20th century. Much of this is due to the destruction of their habitat. This is why the Andhari tiger reserve is so important. It is home to Maharashtra’s oldest and largest tiger reserve, and so far, they have implemented numerous tiger-saving initiatives and host the fastest-growing tiger population.

A big thank you to Sudhir Mungantiwar, Minister of Forests, Fisheries, and Cultural Affairs of Maharashtra, for embarking us Miss World delegates onto this journey and this initiative. We hope that together, we can raise awareness to save the tigers.

What can you do to support the tigers?

1) Spread awareness in your community by sharing information about tiger conservation

2) Support organisation and initiative dedicated to tiger conservation through donations or volunteering

3) Advocate for policies that protect tiger habitats and enforce laws against poaching and illegal wildlife trade
