In a momentous event on Saturday 8th October 2022, Liza Gundowry, Miss World Mauritius, launched her Beauty With A Purpose project, ‘Nou Later Nou Lafors’ at Base Frère Lourdes in Sainte Croix. Liza initiated this pivotal project to help tackle food insecurity. The project endeavours to empower women in underprivileged communities to cultivate their own crops, promoting self-sustainability.

The launch event was organised with the invaluable assistance of the local NGO, Fraternité Nord Sud, Mrs Primrose Obeegadoo and Mrs Jennifer Tsang from the Miss Mauritius National Organisation both graced the occasion with their presence, highlighting the collaborative and unwavering support and efforts that have gone into this initiative from various stakeholders.

As the initiative takes root, the collective efforts of all involved promise a brighter future for Sainte Croix and serve as an inspiring example of community-driven change.
